A Shoebox of Love

In times of dire need after a tragedy such as the earthquake in Haiti, the basic needs of people can sometimes be overlooked in the effort to access and address issues of a larger scale. At Shoebox4Haiti, our goal is to provide small essential items to survivors of the earthquake in convenient and easy to carry packages like a shoebox.

Our hope is to restore a sense of dignity and decency in the lives of as many earthquake survivors as possible by providing them the items necessary to maintain a healthy level of personal hygiene. We think such personal hygiene items can mean a lot, especially under the difficult circumstances in which the earthquake survivors are now living.

At Shoebox4Haiti, we know that a shoebox full of small essentials things may not sound like much, but we trust that each shoebox will make a difference in the life of a survivor. We want to reach as many earthquake survivors as possible. Will you help us? Will you and your family fill a shoebox or two or three with some much needed items for the survivors of the earthquake in Haiti? We welcome shoeboxes of all sizes created to meet the needs of people of all ages. Please click here for the list of recommended items.

We will collect filled shoeboxes at various locations throughout the areas of metro Atlanta in Georgia; Chattanooga, Tennessee; Vancouver, British Columbia; and Orlando, Florida throughout the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday weekend. Please click here for more information on specific drop-off times and locations.

All items collected by Monday, January 18, 2010 will be delivered to Haiti by Shoebox4Haiti.com partners Michael Robison, Pastor of Grace Church in Kingsport, Tennessee and Matt Chambers of Safewaternexus. Pastor Michael Robison and Matt Chambers are scheduled to depart for Haiti from Nashville, Tenn next week.
